Start Date: Tuesday, July 16, 2019
End Date: Saturday, November 2, 2019
Days & Times: Tuesdays at 6:45 PM & Saturdays at 8:00 AM
Location: Tailwind, 143 W 72nd St, New York, NY 10023
Summary: The NYC Marathon is one of the world's premier races. We've been preparing athletes to run the marathon for 30 years, including 12 years with Nike and 14 with JackRabbit. We're ready to help you get to the starting line healthy, and the finish line happy.
The group meets twice each week. Tuesdays are reserved for interval work, tempo runs, hill repeats or other "quality" runs. Saturdays focus on distance and building the requisite endurance to cover 26.2 miles on race day. All participants will receive weekly e-mails with previews of the upcoming group workouts, as well as guidance as to what other training to do during the week.
In addition to the regular workouts, we'll have workshops on nutrition, injury prevention and treatment, drills, and race day strategy. Most runs will be in Central Park, though select weekend runs will venture outside of the park, and we'll cover the last 10-miles of the race course a week before the big day.
There will be no class on Labor Day weekend.
Prerequisite: Ability to run 8-miles at 11:00/mile or faster.
